happy holidays

well we are excited to have our first holiday with our foster child. we got approval from the foster agency to take her to rob's parents for a long weekend before christmas. unfortunately, there was a bit of a scheduling snafu in that one worker didn't know the other had given permission so a make up visit was scheduled for when we're out of town!

needless to say after plenty of back and forth phone calls, a compromise was reached and we'll still get to take the kid upstate to the land of fresh show and lots of grandparental attention and love for the holidays.

this is a clear reminder that being a foster parent requires flexibility as there are multiple agendas at work and often times a compromise is the only solution.

happy holidays!

Happy New Year to all! My partner and I also live in NJ and are beginning our quest for adoption or fostering and have many questions about the whole process. Although we will learn as we go along, it would be nice to hear from someone who has gone through it. If you are able to communicate via email, please write to me at gmt0107@optonline.net. Best wishes to your beautiful family. Sincerely, Gary
