first holiday as parents....

as we head towards our first Thanksgiving with Madelyne, I had to take a moment and share my gratitude for the experience we're having. When I see a baby seat in my car, it blows my mind that we are responsible for a young person. It seemed like yesterday that we were trudging through weekend training sessions and had no idea that it would so quickly turn into the beautiful smiling face that we wake up to and put to bed every night.

Foster care is a great experience and it's hard to imagine how many kids like Madelyne need safe homes as their birth parents work through their challenges.
